Heritage Alliance Project (HAP) is a community-based, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
The mission of HAP is threefold:
to collaborate with various entities to facilitate the preservation of history and advocate for beautification and safety in the East Depot/Mill Street community.
Heritage Alliance Project (HAP) welcomes collaboration with individuals or organizations having similar interests, in its service area. HAP completed its first collaboration, which was with the Town of Mocksville.
The organization donated land, located at the corner of E. Depot and Pine streets, to the Town for construction of a community pavilion. A groundbreaking ceremony was held October 12, 2023.
The first train in Davie County traveled from Winston-Salem to Mocksville on November 1, 1891. A new brick train depot replaced the old depot building in 1980.
